GRANNY'S HOMEMADE SWEET POTATOE PIE
 
 
 
 makes 2 regular size pies or 1 deep dish
 
 Ingredients
 
2 large sweet potatoes                                                                                      
1 stick of salted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 tbsp of evaporated milk
2 eggs
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
2 tbsp flour
2 readymade pie crust/1 deep dish pie
 
 
Preheat oven 350 degrees
 
Directions:
  1. Place potatoes in pot and cover with water. Boil potatoes until fork can slide through with no difficulty(approximately around 45 minutes)
  2. When potatoes are tender, pour water off potatoes and rinse with cold water.
  3. Place potatoes in colander and peel skin off potatoes.
  4. Chop potatoes in small pieces and place in mixer.
  5. Combine milk, butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and mix on medium speed for 5 minutes or until smooth.
  6. Add eggs and mix until well blended and smooth
  7. Blend in the vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and flour mix for 2 minutes
  8. Pour mixture into mess strainer over a bowl to separtate strings from batter. Use a rubber spatula to press mixture against strainer, to help through
  9. When complete pour strained batter into pie crust
  10. If using regular size crust bake both pies in oven for 25 minutes, or until batter is set(not shaking)
  11. If baking 1 deep dish pie bake for  40 minutes, or until batter is set(not shaking)
  12. Remove pie from oven, let cool for 20 minutes and ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
