African - American Lasagna
serves 5



6 lasagna noodles

1/4 cup onions

1/4 cup celery

1/4 cup of mixed bell peppers

1 lb Italian sausage

2 8oz bags mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey jack and cheddar cheese

6oz can tomato paste

1 tsp Tones Italain Seasoning

1/2 tsp Cathy's Basil Leaf

1/4 portabella mushrooms

Dash of salt and Tones Ground Black Pepper



Preheat oven 350 degrees

1.     boil noodles, follow directions on lasagna box (cut noodles to fit pan)

2.     brown Italian sausage (crumble meat)

3.     add all vegetables and cook for 2 minutes

4.     add tomato paste

5.     fill tomato paste can 2 times with water and mix well with Italian sausage

6.     add dry seasoning

7.     reduce heat to low and let simmer for ten minutes

8.     layer cooked noodles on bottom of (8x8x2in) pan

9.     add 1/2 meat mixture on top of noodles

10.   layer with half mozzarella cheese

11.   cover with next layer of noodles

12.   cover noodles with remaining meat, mozzarella and monterey jack cheese

13.   bake for 15 minutes or until top is slightly brown
